What is an All-on-Four implant procedure?
All-on-4 dental implant procedures replace an entire arch of missing teeth using four strategically placed dental implants to support a fixed set of replacement teeth.
This treatment provides a permanent alternative to removable dentures and restores full chewing function and appearance. It allows patients to regain stable, natural-looking teeth with fewer implants than traditional full mouth implant methods.

Does dental insurance cover dental implants in Hawaii?
Many dental insurance plans in Hawaii help cover portions of dental implant procedures and tooth replacement treatments, although coverage varies by provider and plan.
Most plans contribute toward:
- Implant restorations (crowns, bridges, dentures)
- Tooth extractions
- Diagnostic imaging and exams
Insurance typically pays a percentage of treatment costs up to your annual maximum. Any remaining balance beyond your plan’s limit would be your responsibility.
Our team at PDIS will help verify your benefits, explain your coverage, and help you maximize your insurance for dental implants whenever possible.
What insurance plans does Pacific Dental & Implant Solutions accept?
At PDIS, we accept many dental insurance plans commonly used in Hawaii, including Hawaii Dental Service (HDS), HMSA, and other PPO dental insurance providers.
Insurance may cover portions of implant restorations, crowns, or related procedures depending on the plan.
Our office provides free insurance verification and submits claims on behalf of patients to help maximize available benefits and reduce out-of-pocket costs.
Why choose a Prosthodontist in Honolulu for dental implants instead of a general dentist?
A prosthodontist is a dental specialist with an additional three years of advanced full-time training beyond dental school, focused exclusively on complex tooth replacement, dental implants, and full-mouth reconstruction.
Dr. Jmi Asam’s prosthodontic specialty training allows her to:
- Plan dental implant treatment from both the surgical and final restoration perspective
- Design implants for optimal function, comfort, and appearance
- Restore multiple missing or failing teeth with long-term success
- Manage complex implant and full-mouth cases in one location
While general dentists may place or restore implants, they often rely on multiple outside specialists. As a prosthodontist, Dr. Asam oversees the entire process, ensuring the final teeth are placed in the ideal position for both health and aesthetics.
This comprehensive approach is especially important for patients needing:
- Full mouth dental implants
- Multiple implants
- Implant-supported dentures
- Complex restorative treatment
Additionally, because Pacific Dental & Implant Solutions participates with major Hawaii insurance providers like HDS and HMSA, treatment fees are often comparable to – and sometimes more cost-effective than – general dental offices, while providing a higher level of specialty care.
